Why This Guide Exists
Iowa treats many arrest and booking details as public records, but those details are spread across agencies. The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office creates county booking records and may hold a booking photo. Burlington Police publishes a dated arrest-log archive. Iowa Courts records show what happened after booking, while the Iowa Department of Corrections covers people serving state sentences. A records request fills gaps when no public lookup exists. This site organizes those official paths and explains their different roles. It does not reproduce photo collections.
